CHANGE OF NAME
MOTOR ORGANISATION
ACTION" AT AUCKLAND
.(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
AUCKLAND, March 22. The Auckland Automobile Association has changed its name.
The-decision was reached at a special meeting, when a resolution to remove the -word "Auckland" from, tha
name was carried unanimously.
The council of the association had under consideration for some time the change in name, as the association has long ceased to be a city organisation, and' is now expanding beyond the bounds of the Auckland province. Its officers have even indulged in a friendly exchange of views on the subject of amalgamation with officer's o.f other associations.
The general secretary, Mr. G. "W. Hutchison, said the vote taken at the last annual meeting of the combined automobile associations had resulted ia an even vote for.and against amalgamation. He felt, however, that some of those who had. voted against the suggestion on the spur of" the moment might be prepared to change their opinion when it was realised that individual .members y of their associations would greatly' benefit by the resultant extension of the service that would b» made possible.
The Auckland Association will in" future be known as the Aufomobilt Association Incorporated.
