Heavy entries were offered at Addington market today, but prices were fairly well maintained.
Stora sheep: The entry included Poverty Bay two-tooths, which sold at los to 16s; good sound-mouthed sheep from Mailborough, and lines from the West Coast and Chatham Islands. Good young ewes sold steadily to a small buying circle, hut aged ewes made extremely low prices. Kxtru. good two-tooth Roinney cross ewes, I.ls to 16s; good two-tooth ewes, halfbrcd. 13s to ,14s !)d: medium two-tooth halfbred. Us to 12s Gd; inferior two-tooth. 8s to 10s;. good four-year. Ss to 9s; medium. 6s Gd to 7s 9d: inferior. 3s Gd to 5s 6d; six and and eight-tooth halfbred. 10s 6d: ordinary two-tooth Romncy cross, to 9s Gs';' s.m. .lioinnoy, Gs Gd to 8s: ordinary s.m. Romney, 4s 6d to Ds; inferior s.m. Komney, 3s 4d to 4s 3d. >
Fat lambs: A largely increased entry and a steady sale. Best lambs sold to 14s lOd; prime, lls Gd to 13s Gd; light, 9s 6d to Us.
Fat sheep: Five thousand were penned, only pen lines of wethers being included. It was a dragging Rale, though values were maintained. Extra prime heavy wethers sold to 17s; prime heavy, 14s 6d to 16s; prime medium weight, 12s' to 14s: ordinary and, light, 10s to 11s 6d; extra prime heavy ewes, to 12s lOd; prime heavy, 9s to 10s Gd: medium weight, prime. 6s 9d to 8s 6d: ordinary, 4s 9d to 6s Gd; light. 3s Gd to 4s 6d.
Fat. cattle: A heavy yarding of 445 head, about 175 more than requirements. A slow sale was the result, with a further easing in prices. Best beef made 16s to 19s; ordinary, 13s to 15s Id: inferior, down to 11b Id: and rough, to 7s per 1001b. -Extra prime heavy steers sold to £9 12s Gd; prime heavy, £G to £S as; medium weight, prime. £5 to £5 15s; light and ordinary, £1 5s to £4 10s: extra prime heifers, to £6 7s fid; prime. £.3 12s fid to £5 7s 6d; ordinary, £2 12s Gd to £3 10s; light, £1 15s to £2 10s: extra prime cows, to £6 7s Cd: prime. £3 7s Gd to £5: ordinary, £2 2s Gd to £3 2s fkl; acerl, £1 7s 6d to £2.
Kit pigs: Xorth Island competition assisted to maintain tlie market. Choppers made 30s to £3 ]3s Cd: banners. 3fis to 53s 6d (average price per lb, 3',-id to 3%d); porkers. 23s Od to 32s Od (avciasc price per lb, 3%d to-4!4d).
