SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
A concert of an exceptionally enjoyable nature was given at tho Sailors' Friend Society Institute on Tuesday night. Jiarehe Militaire," the opening item, presented as a violin ciuartettp by Misses M, Cribbs, L. Smith, Masters D. Walker and M. Hyman. was rendered in very fine stylo Jocelyn Walker -was .-it the piano. A violin. solo by little Marie Walker was much enjoyed, being a remarkable performance for so young a player. All thp abo-\e performers al-e pupils of Mr. L. Walker, who was lu>st for the evening. Miss Oldbury-Jones delighted everybody vith her humorous sketrhes. Mrs. Newton and Mr. L. Bade were tho vocalists, the Utter choosing popular sea songs, which found much favour with the audience. A com-munity_sms;.wjth-:Mr.s. .'WaJber .at the piano, went with a good swing. Supper was tciycd by. the members of the partj.
