GOLF

WAIWETU CLUB

A large number of golfers participate* in the competitions closing the summer? golf season at Waiwetu last week. Tha morning was taken up in driving, ap« proaching, and putting events, while iii the afternoon all took part in a flag competition. The latter event was won by Mrs. L, McKay, who carried the flag to. the nineteenth green.

Satisfactory entries were received for all club ijxtures during the season, and close contests marked all the games. A specially satisfactory feature was the good progre.ss made by many of the younger members, and as a result of the experience gained they should dp well during the winter season, which will open on April 1.

Trophies won during, the season were presented by Mr. B. Barker, the club captain.

A bogey round will be played on tht Shandon links next Saturday.
