(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, February 15. Through being overwhelmed by an unexpected fall of shingle, in a quarry at Havelock North this afternoon, -Richard Seddon Cooper, aged 25, a eartago contractor, lost his life. He had just drawn up his lorry in a shinglo pit, and loading-was about to bo commenced when a large section oif.the bank of tho quarry fell upon him, inflicting severe injuries. He died almost immediately.
