BUTTER AND CHEESE.
Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd have received from Messrs. Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London, the following cabled advice, dated February 15-— ■'New Zealand Butter—Finest, 77s per Cwt; New Zealand cheese, white, 445; coloured, 565. Both markets are quiet." '■ The Cambridge Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., will make a pay-out of £16,572 for January supply at the rate of 9%d for cheese and 7%d for-butter. A supplementary payment on December supply will be made of £1896 at the rate of Id per lb, butter-fat for cheese and %d for butter, bringing the total pay-out for the season up to £114,757. Last season the January advance was £18,572 at the rate of 10% d for cheese and 9%d for butter. The total payment up to January was !£ 124,908. .The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following advice from their London house, dated February 15:—"Dairy produce, with last week's quotations in parentheses, are: Butter, New Zealand choicest salted, 78s per cwt (80s), market is quiet. Cheese, white, 44s per cwt (475); coloured, 54s to pss per cwt (575). The market is slow."
