SIR E. GEDDES'S VIEWS
(British Official Wlrelest.) - (Received February 15, 2 p.m.) RUGBY, February 14. _ Sir Eric Geddes, Chairman of Imperial Airways, arrived at Southampton i yesterday afternoon by air from a journey along the Empire air route of j Europe to South Africa. During his journey in the air liner-Heracles from Southampton to London Sir Eric recounted'his impression and discussed the future of the. African, route. Ho j said that with new aircraft, and a xc* : arranged time-table they hoped in. th* near future to reduce the time from London to the Cape to nine days, as against seventeen by sea. Referring to air traffic generally,: he mentioned that during January there was a totaloox 3795f x 3795 passengers On all routes at Croydon. He saw no reason why in a few years every port of th« Empire should not be linked up by air, and he prophesied that the regular air, mail services across the Atlantic would; be started within two or three years.
