FIGHTING BUSH FIRES

(Eeceived February 14, 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Prisoners from an afforestation camp helped to save the settlement of Mannus, m the Albury District, from destruction by bush fires. The fire at one stage was advancing on a twelvemile front. The prisoners stood in lmo with wet bags and stopped the flames. .Residents say that Mannus would have been wiped out but for the efforts of the prisoners.
