THE OPENING DAY
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTEBTON, This Day. The forty-sixth annual show of the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association opened on the Solway showgrounds .today and. with the increaso in the total, number of entries over those of. ]ast. year" the .judges- are having a busy' time.' :'.'.'. The competition for the valuable trophies offered by • the association promises to be -.•very keen.- A number of new exhibitors-are providing added interest. '. . •'.'■ ..' There are' substantial increases in the horse, cattle; and dog sections, and a slight aggregate increase in the shee.p classes. Although the first day is largely given over to judging, the general public is not being-neglected. Sheep dog trials and ring competitions will help to entertain many who have no special interest ■in the • results of the judging., ', ■ ■ • . , ' ; , . .
