HITLER'S BROADCAST
OFFICIAL REPORT
PASSAGE OMITTED
LONDON, February 12. A passage omitted from the official report of Herr Hitler's national broadcast on February 10, though heard by millions, was the following:—i "If the German people desert us that won't restrain us. We shall take the course necessary to save Germany from ruin." The inference, states th© Berlin correspondent of "The Times," is that Herr Hitler intends to retain power at all costs. This presupposes the support of President Hindenburg. Saxony and Hesse both fear control by a trusteeship and the eclipse of Parliamentary government. Baden and Wurtemburg oppose the Reich's seizure of _ Prussia, but watch events silently, being too weak to oppose them by force. Police recruits must now be approved by .the Ministry, a decision which implies the infiltration of Nazi storm troops. Opposition newspapers havo been drastically suppressed.
