(From Our Own Correspondent.) NELSON, February 13. The Nelson district rifle shooting championship for 1933 was won by H. If rank on the Motneka range on Saturday. The weather conditions were not of the beßt but some liigli scoring was registered, and the decision was in doubt until the final shoot-off. : Before firing the ten shots at 600 yards F. H. Sharland, the winner at the last two championship meetings, was one point ahead with a total of 190, with Frank 189, and W. A. Kenning 18li. The result of the final shoot placed Frank level with Sharland, each having 235 points. It was then necessary to fire pit the tie, five shots at 600 yards. Frank with 24 points proved the winner, and thus gained the belt for 1933. The doath occurred yesterday of Mrs. B. J. Hudson, widow of the late Dr. James Hudson, who was well known in Nelson arid the district in former years. The late Mrs. Hudson' was a daughter of the Rev. J. C. Andrew, at one time the principal of Nelson College. Over a long period the late Mrs. Hudson was closely identified with the various activiI tics of All Saints Parish.
