SPORTS AT BASIN RESERVE
The Scottish Harrier and Amateur Athletic Club held a sports meeting on the Basin Reserve. last evening. Conditions were excellent, and there was a large crowd present. D. Pedersen (Wellington), who had been .treated rather liberally on 80yds, won from C. ■ Gibbons, a club-mate, oS scratch. Barn (Olympic), off the limit of 130 yds, paced the field for six laps, and was only headed when Pedersen came through with hall a mile to go. At the bell the placings were unchanged, but Gibbons, who had bben running strongly, moved up to second. Pedersen's break, however, was too great, and he won by nearly 20yds.
