The departure for the United States on a secret -mission of Mr. Connolly,' one of Mr. de Valera's Ministers, has caused 'surprise here.

It is believed he will arrange the repayment of the Kepubliean loans raised during the Anglo-Irish fighting. There is also a suggestion that he may make tentative proposals for the raising of a new loan.
