PROTEST MEETINGS.
Protest meetings are to be held in the Labour Hall at Petohe tonight, when Mr. J. W. McEwan will preside, and in the Concert Chamber, King. George Theatre, Lower Hutt, tomorrow night, when the speakers will include Mr. W. T Strand and Mr. W. Nash, M.P. Among the subjects to be dealt with are the sales tax, the increased exchange rate, the imposition of the levy oil the unemployed, and the reduction of relief pay.
Flying his own sports Avro Avian, Mr. E. Kirkup left Rongotai at 12.10 pjn. yesterday for" Auckland. ■
