AN EASY £1000

ART UNION PROCEEDS

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evenina Post.") | CAETERTON, This Day. By direction of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the treasurer of the recent Merry Christmas Art Union informed the general, committee of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society by letter received at a meeting on Saturday that he had forwarded a cheque for £1000 as part-proceeds of the art union.

The Minister emphasised the fact that the money was to be applied in the first place to extinguishing bank overdraft, and any surplus beyond the amount required for that purpose was to go toward reducing other existing liabilities. \, ■ "The easiest £1000 the society has ever received," remarked a' member.
