SEVERAL DEATHS OCCUR
THE WEST OF AUSTRALIA
(Received 11th February, 1 p.m.) PERTH, This Day. Another century reading has prolonged the most sensational heat wave in the history of Western Australia. The thermometer at noon showed 110 degrees. ■-■.'". Six or seven deaths of elderly persons are attributed to the terrific heat. The Mayor of Kalgoorlie, Mr. Bernard Leslie, collapsed and died. He was one of the outstanding personalities of ,the goldflelds. Bush fires are raging in many parts of the State, and several homes and farms ihavo been burnt out.
