Making no pretensions to seriousness tne Picture Is a comedy drama which has an irresistible appeal as it pursues its light-heart-ed course. The scene of the action is Vienna, the story revolving round an unnamed bandit a°* J's exploits, which are.marked by unu^in??bUV?, one thß less effective methods.' When lie and his accomplices raid fhe premises or.a.high-class jeweller, he meets the Baroness Teri, seeking to relieve the boredom which she Buffers from her elderly husband by ajlowinii t a to- o ¥">ai some o£ Ws wealth on costly stones. Eipa for romance, the Baroness immediately becomes Infatuated with the handsome robber and subsequently shields him: from the police. A mutual desire on the part of. the robber and his victim to meet again is satisfled when the latter rays a visit to the Baroness s rooms. By an artifice he takes her to his rooms, and the excitement ot an escape over the housetops from a police raid proTides an appropriate flnale to a-lively picture. Kay Francis makes a beautiful Baroness, aud the. exchanges between the high-spirited noble£S £ an<J the fascinating rascal are.marked by racy dialogue very cleverly strung together. W™« m« nor >parts are cwioly filled ' and the production is one which acts as a rare tonic in-times .like the present.
