ATHLETIC BASKETBALL CLUB
.The annual meeting of the Athletic ■Basketball Club was held on Thursday evening, a full muster of past and new members being present. Mr. T. W. Steel (president) mentioned the fact it was the clubs first birthday. The balance-sheet showed a healthy state of finance, and the Other reports were fully discussed and arrangements made for the coming season. The club expects to have three or more teams playing this season, and will commence training on 2nd March. Officers and committees were appointed, and the usual votes were passed to the outgoing oflicers.
A vote of condolence was passed to Mrs. Harris and family on the loss of Mr G. Harris, who was one of the club's best supporters.
The social committee arranged for a social evening to open the season.
Mr. Leo dv Chateau, representing the Dame Sybil Thorndike Company, leaves for New Plymouth to-morrow.
