' A FREE PUBLIC LECTURE will be delivered (God willing) in the above Hall on SUNDAY, kt 7 p.m. Subject: "PRESENT-DAY FAITH HEALING REFUTED." The cure of disease by Christ and the Apostles contrasted with the pretensions of modern so-called faith healers. THE OBJECT OF THIS ADDRESS is to prove from the Scriptures:— 1. THAT the "signs", of the Apostolic era - were for the expres purpose of "CONFIRMING THE WORD" spoken by Christ and the Apostles. (Mark 16:20, Acts 14:3, Hebs. 2:3-4, Acts 2:22, Acts 4:29-30, I Cor. 14:22. 2 Cor. 12-12. John 3:2, John 15:22-24, etc.) . . 2. THAT now we have the confirmed "HOLY SCRIPTURES WHICH ARE • ABLE TO MAKE WISE UNTO SALVATION." (2 Tinl. 3:15, Acts 20:32, James 1:21.) Hence there is no necessity now for confirmatory' signs. 3. THAT it is a demonstrable fact that modern so-called faith healers do not believe nor preach "the Gospel" Christ and His Apostles preached, and therefore cannot be performing signs which were only to follow the proclamation of that."Gospel," i.e., ."THE GOSPEL . OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD." (Mark 16:15-17, Mark 1:14, Luke 8:1, Luke 4.43, Acts 8:12, Acts' 20:25,-2 Tim. 4:34.) Consider Paul's ;words:r— "THOUGH WE,. OR AN ANGEL . FROM HEAVEN, OR ANY MAN PREACH ANY OTHER .GOSPEL UNTO YOU THAN THAT WHICH WE HAVE PREACHED UNTO YOU, LET HIM BE' ACCURSED." (Gals. 1:8-9. See also Isaiah 8:20, Isa. 66:2, Jer. 23:28.)
