APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT
I (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ! AUCKLAND, This Day. An increase of 3d per two-ounce tin in the price of imported tobacco and 2d in the local product was announced by the"1 Tobacconists' Association today.
The secretary stated that the Government was being urgently asked to reconsider the imposts as the new charges would so reduce sales as to ruin many of the traders.
