(Received 9th February, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Bth February. Squadron-Leader Gayford and Flightlaieutenant Nicholette, in the BA F Fairey monoplane, will fly to Cape To-_ to-morrow. Squalls and head winds prevented a greater range. It ia officially stated that the distance on which the record will be claimed is 5300 miles. The flyers were aloft 57 hours 25 minutes. They actually averaged nearly a hundred miles an hour and covered sis thousand miles. His Majesty, Mr. Mac Donald, Lord Londonderry (Secretary for Air), the Air Council, Lord Amulree, and' the Fairey Company have cabled congratulations.
