- WARM AND HUMID

Fair weather, -with rather warm and humid conditions, may bo expected by tho greater part of the Dominion, according to. the weather' forecast issued at noon to-day. The interior and northern districts of the North Island, however, may. have at first some scattered show-ers and isolated thunderstorms, but conditions are expected to improve gradually in those areas. Later on, howover, showers will develop in the western and southern districts of the South Island. Over the North Island southerly winds will be the rule at first, and northerlies over the South Island, but northerlies, mainly light to moderate in strength, will gradually beeomo general. - The depression which was centred yesterday to the west of Auckland crossed the Bay of Plenty last night, and barometrio pressure in. northern districts lias risen considerably. There has heen a, rise in pressure, too, over the Chatham Islands area, but a" fall over tho South Island. Southerly winds have'predominated over the North Island and northerlies over the South Island. .Irregular and widespread rains have fallen in the North Island, with isolated showers and thunderstorms in tho interior Otago. There was a continuance of showery weather in Auokland yesterday, but by this morning, although skies were still overcast, the rain had ceased. The wind in the northern city has changed from the north-west to the south-west. A cool southerly wind with dull weather prevailed in Wellington yesterday morning and a light drizzle fell at times. ,But during the afternoon the weather cleared and the day finished with a recording of 5.7 hours of sunshine.
