THE STALLION SOLARIO
Solano, who was sold at auction in England l*ist jear for 47,000gn5, was insuicd at Llojd's for a period of two years for £50,000, at* .a. premium of £2000 for each- teirm. L , A London writer remarks: "Solario commences his eleventh year on Ist Januaiy. and he should at least live until 'the expiration _of the policy; July, 1935, so that' the risk of the underwriters does not appear to be very great. That is-indicatcd by the piemmms, which are less than 4 per cent. As a rule, an age of 12 years is recognised as the normal limit." When Solario was sold it was laid down I as a cpntingency that the 37 service contracts arranged for the season 1933 must be accepted. The scr\icc fee was COOgns, and that is the fee for the additional subscriptions.
