YORK ABBEY'S RELATIVE

Great Britain, a three-year-old halfbrother by Little England to that firstclass horse York Abbey, registered his first success to date in winning the Hinuera Handicap at Matamata last Saturday. Like York Abbey, he was bred and is owned and trained by. Mr. R. Hannon. He was favourite on both machines, so evidently ha liad been, doing good work at Cambridge. Prior to Saturday he had had four starts without doing anything, but now he has come into winning form he may, go on with it, as he is a solid-looking sort with plenty of size. He is a good beginner, and he seems to be able to stick on under pressure, for on Saturday he was headed by Sinking Fund and Gay Cavalier on tho home turn but came away again over the last furlong.
