ANNUAL CONFERENCE

'> Master bakers and pastrycooks from all parts of the Dominion attended the thirty-second annual conference of the New Zealand Association, which opened here to-day. Mr. G. A. Laurenson, Dunedin, presided over a large attendance. The president announced : that the only invitation to hold next year's conference was from Hawkes Bay. Nothing further had been heard, but* the secretary would telegraph to Hawkes Bay before the present conference concluded.- ' Mr. Matheson extended anjinvitation to meet in conference at Auckland next year. ' The following amendments to the constitution were proposed:-r-Manawatu: "That in future the New Zealand executive be permanently situated in Wellington." Wanganui: '.'That the New Zealand executive headquarters be located wherever the president-for the year is located." Christehurch: "That the time is opportune to revise the constitution in the direction of the establishment of separate associations in the two islands but with recognition of a New Zealand' president, secretary, and' auditor." A lengthy discussion ensued, and it was decided that the executive should make- a recommendation to the conference.
