UPPER HUTT COURT
Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., dealt with cases in the. Magistrate's Court at Upper Hutt yesterday. For hawking without a licence Thomas H. Johnson was fined 10s. Louis Moody and Joseph Frederick Gillett, who were found on licensed premises after. hours, were each convicted and ordered to pay 12s costs. A fine of 10s was imposed upon Thomas R. Mackinson for carrying more than two people on a motor-cycle. Charles McFadzean was fined £1 for driving a truck at more than 25 m.p.Ti. On a charge of negligent driving Arthur Leopold Blackwall was convicted and ordered to pay £1 13s costs. Augustus Williams was fined £2 10s for driving a car at a speed and in a manner which might have been dangerous. Inspector J. 13. Ainswortli said that the de-' fondant, driving a taxi at 35 to 40 miles an hour, had cut out of a line of the race traffic. .
