' As, compared with closing rates o£ last series, greasy merino are from par to %d higher, merino scoured from par. to %d higher, greasy halfbred from 14d to %d higher, greasy fine crossbred - from par to %d higher, greasy medium and: coarse crossr bred unchanged, -except shabby and inferior; tlie change, if any, is in favour of buyers. Scoured crossbred and fine slipes are V-i to %d higher, coarse and medium slipe are about the same, greasy crossbred lambs are lid to %d 'higher. For medium and coarse crossbreds the market generally is rather irregular; the opening advances of %d to_d per lb are mostly lost, and in some cases the fall in values is more. Slipe wools generally are unchanged." -,The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following advice from its London house under date Bth February: , The London wool sales closed firmly to-day. , As compared with last sales' closing rates, prices are about the same for, fine scoured crossbred, medium • crossbred^coarse crossbred slipe, coarse greasy crossbred,, and coarse scoured crossbred. Prices are, higher* par to %d per lb for merino and crossbred lambs, also fine crossbred slipe. Prices are higher, %d per lb for medium scoured merino, greasy merino, scoured inferior merino, and fine greasy crossbred. Prices are higher %d to Id per lb for scoured merino super. There is good all round competition." Under date Bth February the following cablegram has been received from the London office of the New Zealand farmers Co-op. Distributing Company, _d.:—'Wool Bales closed to-day, and prices, compared as follows with closing rates of last series: Merino, greasy good to super, %d>to %d; merino, greasy low to medium, %d to !_;'merino, scoured good to super, %d; merino, scoured low to medium, %d to Id; greasy fine crossbreds, lid to %d advance. Greasy medium crossbreds, par to* %d; greasy coarse crossbreds, %d decline. Scoured fine crossbreds, %d to Id; scoured medium crossbreds, par to ■ Coarse crossbreds -unchanged. -.' Slipes, fine, %d advance. Slipes, medium and' coarse, unchanged. As compared with opening prices fine crossbreds are unchanged;.medium-and coarse crossbreds are 5 per cent, lower.
