The annual general meeting of the. shareholders of J. Staples and Co., Ltd., was held yesterday. It is understood that the net profit for the year ended 31st December, 1932, was shown at. £14,635 18s lid, and that the balance brought forward was £18,982 6s 7d, making a total of £33,618 5s 6d. : From this amount there was paid in August, 1932, au interim dividend of 2% per cent., absorbing £8750,' leaving for appropriation a balance of £24,868 ss. 6d. The directors recommended that there be paid-yesterday a further dividend of 2% per cent. (£8750), making a total of s.per cent, for the year, leaving a' balance to be carried forward to the new year's accounts of £16,118 as 6d. The retiring director, Mr. D. W. Madden, was re-elected.
