Over four years' ago now, the hurdle horseman, Hector Gordon, was the vicr tim of a serious smash off Aratura in a hurdles at Dahnevirke, and,; although fears were entertained about, his recovery at the time, he pulled through, and eventually.' resumed .riding, -However, he has never ; been properly;- weE since, and now; serious resultant 'eomplicatiohs' have-set in that have compelled him to, ga back into; hospital at Wanganui. -' ' . :: " The smash in which Gordon was involved was a terrific one, 'Aratura crashed into the first fence, with'Ms front legs stretched: out :instead;of tucked away,',somersaulted,-.and broke his neck.
