MASTEBTON, This Day.

The expenditure by the Masterton County Council on unemployed wages during the past three weeks amounted to £513. The amount was made up as follows: Eoad works, £175 7s 6'd; farm works, £322 2s 6d; single men's camps, £15 10s. The total expenditure to date on unemployed wages amounted to £11,006 10s '4a. The number of men employed on relief works by the council last month was 222, as compared with 227 for the previous month. There are only two vacancies in the council's single men'a camps. ,
