A NEW PARTY
CONFERENCE IN CITJ
THIRTY DELEGATES ATTEND
Delegates, from all parts of New Zealand assembled in Wellington today to consider proposals for the formation of a new party based on Liberal principles. Although no official report was issued, 'it ia understood that among those present were Mr. J. B. Donald .(Auckland), a former Postmaster-General, Mr. A. J. Stallworthy, M.P. for Eden, Mr. A. B. Sievwright (Wellington), Mr. W. B. Taverner (Duneoffi.), a former Minister of Public Works, Mr. James Kerr (Petone), Mr. Abbey Jones (Invercargill), and Mr. G. C. Munns, former member for Boskill. * Prom this list of names it is apparent that the movement is essentially a city one in character, and with the ' exception" of Mr. Jones the delegates mentioned have .already contested Parliamentary seats'" under the banner of the United Party. ' . . •The conference, which was attended by thirty delegate's, is being continued this afternoon.
