NO NEGOTIATIONS

The Minister of Defence announce! that all the Dutch naval forces in the East Indies would 'be concentrated to deal with' -the mutineers, with. whom, there would be no qnestion of negotiating. Unless the warship immediately and unconditionally surrender* ed, the Government would employ force v to deal with the "desperate influences" undermining Dutch authority in. the East. " ■ ■ .. -. ; - Communists and Socialists interrupted the Minister repeatedly, and the Speaker of the House was obliged to appeal £or a fair.hearing. ':..". The Minister of Defence conversed by telephone with the Bear-Admiral on. the East Indies Station considering forbidding the publication of the movements of ships and army units concentrated at Serang. :'. Siberut, where the Seven-Provinces was last reported, is an island off the Wes.i Coast of Sumatra; half-way to Sunda Straits between Sumatra and Java. Serang, where the Dutch-naval . forces are said to be eoncentrating^.-is a port of Java, commanding the north- ~ ward entrance to Sunda Straits. :; -
