SHEEP WITH GOLD TEETH
(To ,the Editor.)
_ Sir, —Recent reports of gold on sheep's teeth have interested me sufficiently to obtain information from scientific authority. A fanner in England found that some of his sheep's teeth were 'covered with a kind of metal which, when rubbed hadHhe appearance of gold. Further information revealed the fact-that there are certain districts in England and Wales where this discoloration is not uncommon. Some coating/presumably of a tartar character, but certainly not gold, was produced by the grazing or from the soil on which the sheep run. I have the names of the authorities consulted, prominent scientists, and it^would be Well, especially in these times, if optimistic observers were to remember that "all is not gold that glitters."—l am, etc., '
