NOT CAUSED BY INFLUENZA
It has been suggested by an exporter (states the (yhristchurch "Press") that the decline in the prices, for lamb was attributable to a great extent to the falling-oil in consumption, owing to the outbreak o£ influenza in England. When this suggestion was referred last evening to Mr. D. Jones,-chairman of the Meat" ■. Producers' Board, he stated that the advices of the board- from London, received by cables on Saturday s were that the. consumption of: lamb was satisfactory for the time of the year. There was a pressure to sell by some exporters who had bought at very low prices in both Australia and New Zealand, and who would still make a handsome profit,; said Mr. Jones. His board had no advice that.the influenza outbreak had had any serious effects.
