OUTRAGE IN VIENNA
NAZI STABS JEWESS
cowardly; attack
LONDON, 6th February. Tho Vienna correspondent :o£ the "Manchester Guardian" says that Austria is outraged over the news of a cowardly Nazi attempt to murder the famous Viennese playwright and'scientist, Dr. Bosie Meller, a Jewess.
Although absolutely uninterested in polities, Dr. Meller aroused Nazi enmity because she is a successful Jewess.
Her assailant entered a bacteriological laboratory in which Miss Meller was working, and requested a blood test. When Miss Heller turned he stabbed her in the back four times, shouting: "I have come to bring greetings from the Third Eeich."
The man escaped, leaving her unconscious on tho floor.
There is evidence of similar attempts being planned against other Jewish writers.
