The "News-Chronicle" says that tho Melbourne clergyman, tho Rev. Irving Benson, welcomes recent criticism of Abbey monuments as voicing what thousands ha,vo felt for years, namely, that it is high time to. clear out some of the monstrosities and memorials of insignificant people marring the Abbey. He adds that he hopes a commission will be constituted to consider the weeding out, and adding spiritual suggestiveness and dignified simplicity to the Empire's parish church.
