FAIR TO CLOUDY

SEASONABLE WEATHER

Fairly seasonable weather is likely, to continue, according to the forecast issued at, noon to-day. .Conditions generally will be fair to cloudy, with scattered rains and thunder in places. Winds will be- variable and light to moderate, with northerlies predominating-• ' . • . The secondary depression,referred to yesterday became much shallower as it approached the Dominion, and, although barometric pressure is still below normal, the gradient is .only slight. Fair to cloudy and warm weather was experienced in most paits of the country yesterday, the night bringing scattered_ showers to many" North Island districts and to the western and highlevel districts of the South Island. East Cape reports a thunderstorm this morning with heavy rain. Winds are stili mainly northerly, but are of less force than was the case yesterday. Auckland had fair to cloudy and warm weather yesterday, the wind being a light northerly.; Some light showers fell there last sight. Wellington had a bright day with 13.6 hours of sunshine. A strong and squally north-westerly wind prevailed nearly all day. ' • " Yesterday was another.hot and sunny day in Christchureh, a fresh northwesterly wind blowing in tho afternoon. The morning in Dunedii was dull, but the afternoon was warm- and sunny, there being very little wind.
