EXHIBITORS CONFER
The sixth annual conference of the New Zealand Motion Picture Exhibitors' Association was held in Wellington yesterday, Mr. H. W. Shortt presiding in the absence of Mr. Beaumont' Smith, the retiring president. The following delegates were present:— E. .Morse (North Auckland), W. Martin, G.. Calder, S. Tombs, J. Carroll (Waikato), Mrs. Trewin and E. Norden (Taranaki); N. Haywaid (Wanganui); F. Groombridgo and W. E. Barlow (Manawatu); W. Eyre (Wairarapa); H. W. Thompson and R. J. Tierney (Hawkes Bay); R. Veen, T. Craigie, and J; Laurenson, and W. E. Carlson (Wellington); E. Priddle . (Marlborough); H. Morgan (West Coast); H. Righton and O.N. Gillespie (Christchurch and Canterbury); C. C. Knight (Timaru); J. Mason (Dunedin); A. J. McCurdy. (Southland). Various remits of importance to the cinema industry were discussed. Short talks on aspects of theatre advertising were given by Mp. A. R. McElwain (Ful-ler-Ha™ward Theatre Corporation, Ltd.), and Mr. O. N. Gillespie.1 The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr. H. W. Shortt; vicepresident, Mr. W. Burton; Dominion executive, Messrs. W. E. Barlow, J. W. Carlson, O. N. Gillespie, W. R. Kemball, jnr., E. J. Righton, Beaumont Smith, Gordon Harcourt. 'On the motion of the chairman, a vote of appreciation of the services of Mr. J. Robertson, Dominion secretary, and his assistant, ;Mr. S. L. Maries, was carried with acclamation. . .
