Symes made the time of 26 3-ssec for 50 metres—3-ssee better than the existing record for 50 yards. The 440 yds Canterbury championship was won by D. P. .Lindsay in smin 21secthe 220 yds breast-stroke by E. C Heard jin 3min 31sec; and the 150 yds back-stroke by 6. Low in Imin 51 4-ssec.
