PANSIES AND VIOLAS
NOW GOING OFF
As soon as hot weather comes these faithful plants soon show signs of going off. No amount of watering does much good, the blooms gradually getting smaller. The best plan is to cut the plants: well back, loosen the soil round them with the fork, and prick in a little bonedust. Put some fresh, fine soil;round the roots, and-give si good watering. Healthy young growth will then, soon come away, from which fresh plants for flowering next spring may be propagated:
