CONGRESS PASSES BILL-
OVER PRESIDENT'S VETO
(Eeceived 18th January, 10.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, 17th January. The Philippine Independence Bill was passed by the Senate on Tuesday by 66 votes to 26 over President Hoover's veto. ■ ' The House of Eepresentatives last Friday voted by 274 to 94 to override tho veto. This is nio-re than the margin required.
