Mr.-'H. F. yon Haast at a meeting of the Senate of tho New Zealand University to-day read a letter from Mr. Bruno Lasker, of the American Council of the Institute of Pacific Relations, New York, in which he said: —"I have just come from a meeting at which D.r. Peter Buck gave an. address on the Maori settlement of New Zealand that was not - only informing, but poetic and inspiring. I wish someone would finance him to go on with the splendid educational work ho is doing at Yale, and through such occasional lectures as that just given under the auspices of the Institute ..of Pacific.
