WINNER OF ART UNION
The winner of the £2000 prize in tho Merry Christmas art union is Mr. W. 11. Nankervis, a public accountant, of Wellington. Mr. Nankervis took a ticket under the norn de plume of "No Luck."
The San Mateo Bridge, across San Fi-aneisco_Bay, is seven miles 176 yards long. It is constructed of concrete made of oyster shells dredged from the bottom o£ the bay. .
