CUTTING CORNERS

Allow me to draw attention ,to what I consider is an injustice to motorists, brought about by the present system of traffic r control in this city (writes "Motorist"). At certain intersections at which traffic officers control trafiic, it has become the practice of these officers to encourage motorists not to pass around them when making, a right-hand turn. In-other words, permit "cutting the corner." This practice might make.traflie control a.little easier for the officers 'concerned,, but at the same time it is educating motorists up to commit breaches of the motor regulations, and though, they are protected from prosecution so long as. they do it while a traffic officer is controlling traffic at the particular intersection, they render themselves liable to prosecution immediately they do it when trafiic is not being controlled. - . - •
