United Tress Association —By Electric TeleGraph—Copyright. (Received 16th January, 10 a.m.) PAEIS, 14th January. The Cabinet sat all day long and approved measures immediately to balance the Budget. These will be presented to the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday. Ministers agreed to a'lO per cent, cut in the salaries, and also to the following reductions in departmental estimates:— War, 30 million francs. Marine, 150 million francs. Air, 200 million francs. Each other Department, 350 million francs. ~ Civil Service salaries, 250 million, francs. x Civil and military allowances, $00 million francs. V ' Income tax will be increased above £150, with no reduction for ex-soldiers' pensions. There will bo one yearly lottery, the profits to be devoted to war victims.
