AUSTRALIAN AVERAGES.
Average prices for' all wood sold in the Commonwealth of Australia for the six months ended 31st December' were, greasy, 8.5 d per lb; scoured, 13.8 d per lb; and greasy and scoured, '8.7 d per lb. The average for greasy for July was 5.9 d per pound. The market improved to Bd, for August, and B.Bd for September, and closed in December at 8.4 d. Wool receipts for the 1932-33 season to 31st December were 2,484,113 bales, of which 1,327,045 had been disposed of and 1,157,068 were in store at the above date. During the past two years, however, monetary returns have been maintained. Their favourable comparison with 1929 is due to the fact that production and sales have increased. The New South Wales clip shorn during the 1929-1930 season .was 1,450,000 bales, and.is now over 1,570,000 bales- . ,~ .. ' . . Sydney wool sold during January realised B.27d'per lb, an all : round average.
