AUSTRALIAN PRUNES.
Australian prunes are likely to be availr able for export this season, and it is.expected that prices for the fruit for the New Zealand market, will he named within the next three weeks. Advices from Young, New South Wales, are to the effect that arrangements are complete for the handling and drying of the prune crop from the four soldier settlements, which, it is estimated,-will yjeld about 1000 tons o # f dried fruit. Last year's complete faillire of the prune crop has cleared surplus stocks from, the markets, and growers anticipate better prices.
The Wellington branch of the Bank of New Zealand completed its Seventyfirst year 'of, business yesterday, the branch, being opened 15th January, 1862.
