RAILWAY TEAFFIC
A BUSY WEEK-END
The Railway Department reports good business during the week-end, when some very big crowds travelled by rail. On Saturday over 700 people were transported by train to the Wellington Trotting Club's meeting at Hutt Park, this number' being about 200 in excess of those carried to the same meeting last year; it is recalled, however, that the weather was not too good on that occasion. The 2 p.m. express for Auckland on Saturday carried an exceptionally large number of passengers, 250 travelling. On Sunday 1400 people were carried on trains between Palmerskin North and Wellington.
