THE WEATHER OUTLOOK
To-day's weather forecast is for south to, east winds north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, strong in parts of the far north and north-east, and elsewhere moderate. Variable winds are likely south of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura. The weather should bo cloudy to overcast north of Kawhia and Napier, with scattered rain; elsewhere still fair to fine. . The tropical depression to the northeast of Cape Maria has been gradually, filling up, while an anti-cyclone situated east of the Dominion has intensified since last evening. Pressure has risen in the South and over much of the Tasman Sea. There has been further scattered rain in the Auckl? id peninsula and East Cape and Gisborne areas, with fresh south-easterly winds; elsewhere the weather has continued fine. The winds have been moderate and variable, with northerlies ruling yesterday; but this morning southerlies were prevailing in a number of places. ' , Auckland experienced another dull day yesterday, the wind being a moderate south-easterly. Eain fell thoro early this morning. It was beautifully fine and warm in Wellington, with nearly fourteen hours of sunshine. A light northerly wind prevailed. Christchureh had a sunny day. A light north-easterly, wind prevailed; but a strong southwesterly sprang,up in the night. Warm sunny conditions were also experienced in Dunedin, with a light; northerly wind; in the afternoon there were passing clouds.
