CAR WITH A HISTORY
An interesting history attaches to a 1902 De Dion -motor-car which was awarded a plaque in the Eomford rally of the Veteran Car Club recently. The ear was originally purchased by an Indian potentate for his son in England, forming part of a fleet of six cars presented to the boy. The boy died and the rajah ordered that the cars be kept just as the boy had left them. Thus'they remained for 25 years, when the rajah died. The fleet was then disposed of. A Beading engineer, Mr. Denbough, discovered the pc Dion, together with a Daimler of similar age, on a dump in the vicinity of that town. He has not been able to trace the rest of the. fleet. The De Dion was to take part in the London-Brighton Old Crocks run on 20th November.
